中文部门 (Chinese Department)

Established in 1969 in Tacoma WA, Faith Evangelical College & Seminary’s mission is to glorify God by equipping Christian leaders with a biblical, theological and practical education. We are committed to build not only hearers of the word, but doers in everyday application; and to nurture servant leaders for the church and the community. In order to meet the urgent need for leader development among the Chinese community, a Chinese Department was established in 2013 offering courses taught in Chinese, and using resources in both Chinese and English, for the building up of godly men and women to be holistic leaders of the future.

Currently two programs are offered at the Master level. Each program consists of 6 courses (4 credits for each course). Credits obtained from these programs are transferrable to other Master level programs. All the courses are available online.

Program: 領導力研究文憑 Graduate Certificate of Leadership（24 credits)

The focus of this program is the building up of a holistic leader with a servant’s heart, having good relation with God and men, portraying Christ-like character, having a deep conviction of his calling, and possessing the competency to fulfill his calling. Beside academic requirement, there is great emphasis on real life application in church, at home, at work and in the community. Pastors, church leaders, missionaries, Sunday school teachers, Christians in ministry and leaders in the marketplace are encouraged to enroll, so as to enhance their ability to lead with faithfulness and fruitfulness, humility, discernment and wisdom.

This program is designed with emphasis on building a “life changing life” culture by incorporating practical life experiences to bring about life transformation in the leaders, and to fulfill the mandate to make disciples of all nations. While leading team or personal transformation, those who have completed this program would have acquired the ability to analyze, comprehend, evaluate and apply the principles of transformational leadership. They can exercise appropriate leadership skills and be fully accountable for the result; discover the potential and gift of every team member, encourage and nurture each member and explore possible strategies for effective team dynamics; understand the need for balanced spiritual and emotional maturity; able to overcome the challenges in communication and conflicts resolution.

Program: 基督教神學研究文憑 Graduate Certificate of Theology (24 credits)

The Graduate Certificate of Theology is an intensive and high level theological training designed for church pastors, Christian leaders, seminarians, and Christians in professional practice. The theme of this program is “Social Change and Christian Theology” and its special features include carefully chosen knowledge content, contextual inquiry of social change, and integration of church ministry.

Students will gain the perspective of the relevance of Christian theology in a changing world and be equipped to apply it in church and in the community. Courses include: Basic theology and biblical study, concise political theology, overview of Chinese church history, and social analysis of North American and Asian context.
