An annual commencement takes place each July in Tacoma, WA. Students enrolled in Summer Quarter courses which will complete their degree may participate in the July commencement (with the Registrar’s approval). An additional commencement takes place each October in Los Angeles, CA. Students are advised to check the academic calendar to verify commencement dates and deadlines for the Graduation Application.

Students are responsible for fulfilling program requirements as set forth in the academic catalog at the time of matriculation for that degree. Even if students do not plan to participate in the commencement, it is imperative that they officially declare their intentions to graduate by completing the Application Graduation on or before the deadline. A Graduation Application must be on file in order to list students as “graduates” on their academic record. Below is a list of Graduation Requirements.

1. Academic Achievement and Christian Character

All program requirements (unless otherwise determined by the Academic Affairs Committee), including GPA, specific courses for the major or concentration, and the number of program hours taken at the institution must be met. Christian character
and doctrinal integrity as reflected in the Biblical Code of Conduct and the Doctrinal Statement should be evident.

2. Tuition and Fees Paid in Full
Outstanding tuition and fees must be paid in full at least 45 days prior to the
graduation date.

3. Library Books Returned
All library books must be returned at least 30 days prior to the graduation date unless special arrangements have been made with the librarian.

4. Graduation Application and Fees
The Graduation Application and graduation fee must be submitted by the deadline posted on the Academic Calendar. A $180.00 fee is required of all first-time FECS graduates even if they do not attend the commencement ceremony. The fee for each subsequent graduation/degree is $100.00.

5. Graduation Survey
Before graduation, all graduates must complete the Graduation Survey. This survey is part of the Graduation Application.

6. Financial Aid Exit Interview
The financial aid exit interview also must be completed by students who utilized Federal Financial Aid. To initiate the interview contact the Financial Aid Office (ext. 119).
